​​​​​​​​​As a qualified Le​​vel 2 British Cycling Coach, with specific disciplines in Mountain Biking & BMX, I can help improve on your skills and techniques to give you the confidence to move to the next level.

For the more experienced riders, learn how to set up your bike for the optimum​ riding position, and then we can start to work on getting you over those rocks, roots, drops and jumps giving you the confidence to ride those ultimate trails​. Courses start with basic Mountain Biking skills, then go on progressively to build on the new techniques. 



Basic Mountain Bike Skills Course

£35 per rider (Minimum 2 riders, up to 8 riders)​

An introduction to mountain bike riding, a great way to learn basic understanding and skills! The course duration is 2 hours, and this includes the initial bike checks, rider set up and a brief warm up before we begin to ride, you will also be  advised on suitable clothing and safety equipment. The course location is set in Hodgemoor Woods, and riders will need suitable bikes that can used in an off road environment.  

  • Get to know your bike, how to check it for safety, and then set it up to suit your riding
  • Learn how to use and adjust the controls on your bike, such as brakes, gears and suspension
  • Understand the importance of the correct riding position and how to adjust to suit the trails
  • Using your body to shift your weight to improve traction 
  • Effective braking on a range of surfaces & terrains, also whilst descending.
  • How to negotiate off road corners whilst climbing or descending
  • ​​Riding through bomb holes and controlled descending
  • Front wheel manual lift & rear wheel lift, over technical terrain

​​Intermediate Mountain Bike Course

£50 per rider ​(Minimum 2 riders, up to 4 riders)

This course is aimed at the more confident riders that want to take their riding to the next level! The course duration is 3 hours long, and will include how to set up suspension, look into tyre choice to suit your style of riding, and aim to improve you overall riding technique. This course will introduce you to jumps, drops and learning to pump through trails, it will also teach you how to approach technical sections and give you the confidence to commit to each obstacle.


  • ​​Bike set up and equipment check, including suspension, brakes & gears, also tyre choice
  • Learn to front wheel lift to manual, rear wheel lift, then bunny-hop
  • Effective cornering to maintain speed and coordination throughout the trails
  • Front wheel lift to manual, rear wheel lift, progressing to bunny hops
  • Introduction to jumping technique, from basic table tops to doubles and drops
  • ​​​​Learn how to approach drops and ride through them if there is an alternative root
  • How to read the trails, anticipating obstacles and other challenges along the way
Advanced Mountain Bike Course

​​£95 per rider (Minimum 2 riders only, up to 4 riders, the price does not include travel costs or lift up passes)

This course is for a full day in Wales on the Gnarly Cwm Carn mountain bike trail. Full on downhill riding to get you ready for the Alps! Fast flowing & technical, learn to adapt to the speed and prepare to get on the brakes if it all gets a bit too much! This course is designed to give you the skills & techniques you will need if you want to ride in the mountains.
 
  • ​​Bike set up and equipment check, including suspension, brakes & gears, also tyre choice
  • Safety and protection check
  • Effective cornering to maintain speed and coordination throughout the trails
  • Technical riding over drops, jumps and rock gardens
  • ​​​​Learn how to approach drops and ride through them if there is an alternative root
  • How to read the trails, anticipating obstacles and adjusting speed for smoother riding
  • Riding analysis 

1 to 1 Coaching 
​​£35​​ per hour
If you require a more personal approach to your coaching session, maybe a 1 to 1 would be more suitable, and enable you to learn new skills at your own pace, and also focus on paticular elements of your riding.
